Pilot Program successful; grants continue in 2025
Our 6-month pilot program fufilled grants to 11 Oceana residents from August 2024 through January 2025. Grantees agreed that the application was easy to understand and fill out and the entire process moved quickly. They told us the funds would be used for needs ranging from housing and medical expenses to emergency travel costs. The majority said they would apply again after the 6-month waiting period (and we fulfilled our first repeat grant in early February).
Founder Gordon Bishop Passes
Sadly, Gordon Bishop (the founder of OGNF) passed away in December 2024. We continue to honor Gordon’s memory, and the work of Karen Bishop, in establishing OGNF and ensuring that its mission continues on after they left Oceana.
OGNF Mission Statement
OGNF is focused on:
Providing emergency cash grants to qualified Oceana residents from OGNF funds
Working with the Oceana HOA to access additional grant funding for projects (such as infrastructure improvements) that may enhance our Oceana lifestyle while keeping HOA costs down
